Tour Scotland self catering holiday cottage recommendations near Galashiels, Scottish Borders, Scotland.

Braefoot cottage is located on the picturesque and private Yair Estate, which is situated on the banks of the river tweed in the heart of the Scottish Borders, approximately 35 miles south of Edinburgh, 6 miles from Galashiels, 5 miles from Selkirk and 7 miles from Melrose. It is a traditional stone cottage forming part of the Stable block. There are three bedrooms sleeping up to six guests. There is a family bathroom and further en-suite shower room, a Utility room with downstairs wc, open plan reception/dining room and separate kitchen. Being located on the Southern Upland Walk and Cycle route, a 5 minute stroll from the river, a short drive of numerous golf courses and boasting a private tennis court, Braefoot Cottage is perhaps ideally suited to the outdoor enthusiast. 4 permits for the Galashiels Angling Association trout water are offered to any guests, along with right to fish the private water at Yair for trout, Mid March until the middle of September, please check. Salmon fishing is offered, separately and at additional cost, from September through to the end of November. Yair forest offers excellent mountain biking trails and The Glentress centre at Innerleithen can be reached by bike, Southern Upland Way, or by car. The Sir Walter Scott Way, a long distance walking path from Moffat to Cockburnspath passes through Galashiels.
